New Data Center Offering Lets Companies Avoid Being Locked into One Cloud Service as They Grow

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Sept. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Plexxi, creator of the industry's first affinity-driven networking solution, today announced a product integration with CARI.net that provides more flexibility in today's increasingly locked-in cloud landscape, allowing companies to manage and grow their data centers without being restricted to a single cloud service provider.

The new CARIcloud service powered by the Plexxi Switch uses software-defined networking (SDN) to allow companies to automatically adjust to conditions on their networks and make sure that the most important applications are never starved for performance. This provides a high-capacity, high-speed solution that allows data center growth within a single site or across multiple sites.

"Plexxi's switching technology is a key part of the high-performance architecture that allows CARIcloud to deliver blazingly fast speeds to our clients," said Michael Dowdy, CARI.net's vice president of sales. "CARIcloud's Microsoft Cloud OS-based platform gives companies the flexibility to move confidently and securely to the cloud without being limited by a single cloud provider."

"CARIcloud provides a scalable cloud platform that responds to a real and growing market need as more and more businesses migrate to the cloud," said Mat Mathews, Plexxi's vice president of product management. "Plexxi technology allows CARI.net to provide its customers with a high-speed interconnect that provides simpler, more dynamic control over application workloads so the most important applications are guaranteed the resources they need to operate effectively."

About CARIcloud
CARIcloud is a high-performance, scalable and flexible cloud service based on Microsoft Cloud OS that allows companies to move to the cloud with greater control and scale regardless of their size or existing infrastructure. It enables companies to meet existing business needs while taking into account the future potential need to scale up.

About Plexxi Control and Plexxi Switch
Plexxi Control is server-based software that dynamically and continuously computes connectivity solutions to satisfy all workload needs. Plexxi Switches provide standard high-performance, low-latency 10Gb and 40Gbps Ethernet access connections, but interconnect with each other via Plexxi's high-density, high capacity LightRail™ optical interface. The result is a system that directly manifests workload-optimized solutions in the real, physical network, creating a network that delivers to applications what they need, when they need it – every time.
