Chris Wahl Earns VCDX-NV Certification from VMware

AHEAD Senior Solutions Architect One of Only 15 Double VCDX Holders Worldwide

CHICAGO, Aug. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Chris Wahl, a senior solutions architect for AHEAD, is one of the first to attain the VMware Certified Design Expert–Network Virtualization (VCDX-NV) certification. In addition, Chris holds a VCDX in Data Center Virtualization (VCDX-DV)—one of only 15 people globally to hold both.

Chris, along with everyone who currently holds the certification, was specially invited to the NSX Ninja program to help build, shape, and trial the VCDX-NV process for the VMware NSBU (Network and Security Business Unit) and Certification Business Unit.

The VCDX-NV validates the ability to design around complex requirements, constraints, and risks for clients looking to transform their business-facing infrastructure processes by way of efficient, virtualized networking with VMware NSX. "As we continue down the path towards a fully software-defined data center, organizations must work with complex requirements around network connectivity and security features that are still largely mired in physical, manual processes. Having the ability to abstract network services into a policy-driven, VM-centric model is a key next step in modern data center design," observes Wahl.

"Many companies are currently looking to better understand software-defined networking (SDN) and how it can affect their future data center design. With this VCDX-NV certification, clients can feel confident that AHEAD can deliver high-quality prescriptive consulting around SDN and the software-defined data center," said AHEAD CTO Eric Kaplan.

"In addition to this news, we are excited to announce we already have NSX running in AHEAD's new lab, where clients can view sample designs and discuss use cases through AHEAD's Lab and Solutions Briefings. They can also interact with our experts, including Chris and two other architects with a VCDX in data center virtualization," added Kaplan.

The current age of digital transformation means that IT organizations must adapt their toolset to cover all digital experiences, beyond just the end users’. Today’s businesses can no longer focus solely on the digital interactions they manage with employees or customers; they must now contend with non-traditional factors. Whether it's the power of brand to make or break a company, the need to monitor across all locations 24/7, or the ability to proactively resolve issues, companies must adapt to the new world.

Everyone wants the rainbow - reduced IT costs, scalability, continuity, flexibility, manageability, and innovation. But in order to get to that collaboration rainbow, you need the cloud! In this presentation, we'll cover three areas: First - the rainbow of benefits from cloud collaboration. There are many different reasons why more and more companies and institutions are moving to the cloud. Benefits include: cost savings (reducing on-prem infrastructure, reducing data center foot print, reducing IT support costs), enabling growth (ensuring a highly available, highly scalable infrastructure), increasing employee access & engagement (by having collaboration tools that are usable and available globally regardless of location there will be an increased connectedness amongst teams and individuals that will help increase both efficiency and productivity.)
