Light Reading won an Award of Excellence, the program's most prestigious award, in the "Viral Video for Company" category for Light Reading: The Movie. The video was created around the concept of original founder Stephen Saunders, rejoining Light Reading as CEO, and the re-launch of the site as a community-driven media platform in the fall of 2013. Saunders and his team showcased their transformation over the past seven years. The team pokes fun at itself in the video where they highlight several mock business ventures, including one in the food service industry where they dress as chickens and lobsters. They eventually see the "light" and agree to work together to create a new Light Reading. To watch the video, visit: http://www.lightreading.com/carrier-sdn/light-reading-the-movie/v/d-id/705954

Light Reading also won an Award of Distinction in both the "Viral Video for Entertainment" and "Entertainment" categories for Wartoad: Behind the Music.  The video is a "rockumentary" charting the decline and fall of the telco show circuit's biggest, and only, band. In addition, Light Reading received an Honorable Mention in the "Marketing (Service)" category for Light Reading's Relaunch. In August 2013 Light Reading restructured its community-driven media platform to bring the audience into the conversation through moderated discussions, blogs, and social media, giving the community equal share of voice with content experts. The video is an introduction to the new community site. To watch the video, visit: http://www.lightreading.com/carrier-sdn/sdn-equipment/welcome-to-the-new-light-reading/v/d-id/705194

"We like to shake things up here at Light Reading and we know how much our community loves our videos.  We hope they have as much fun watching them as we had making them," said Saunders.
