Italtel Wins Cisco Partner Of The Year Award For South Europe For Service Provider Architectures

Milan, June 3, 2014 - Italtel has received the "Cisco Partner of the Year Award for South Europe for Architectural Excellence: Service Provider Architectures" naming it the best partner in the South Europe region in the design and construction of complex architectures for service providers.

The achievement recognizes Italtel's proven ability to design and implement service provider architectures such as "IP Backbones" and "Evolved Packet Core" solutions for mobile networks and cloud services, including Hosted Collaboration Services for service providers.

Italtel has been operating alongside Cisco for several years in promoting and delivering solutions and architecture dedicated to service providers. In the Italian market, Italtel is a reference partner for tier one and tier two service providers, while at an international level it counts the major telco operators among its customers.

Italtel and Cisco are also working together on the emerging paradigms of Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) and Software Defined Networking (SDN) to give customers a smooth evolution toward networks that are more flexible and adaptable to applications needs.

"I am proud of the results achieved with this new certification," said Camillo Ascione, Co-head of Product Unit Networks & System Integration, Italtel. "It demonstrates our commitment in reaching and maintaining an outstanding reference position in the Cisco Partners Ecosystem. The 'Architectural Excellence: SP Architectures' guarantees our experience and ability as a system integrator of complex Cisco networks. The solid alliance with Cisco is evidenced by the joint development of services and solutions based on SDN architectures that use specific control elements for service providers' networks."

The Certification "Architectural Excellence: Service Provider Architectures" further strengthens the Italtel and Cisco partnership which over the years has been consolidated through numerous certifications in areas such as cloud, managed services and data center architectures.

"It is a great pleasure for us to give Italtel this award. It is a confirmation of the commitment, the vision and the value that our partner Italtel brings in the Italian market to Cisco and its customers. The deep knowledge Italtel has developed on service providers' networks is very impressive. It is a guarantee for our customers who are ready to integrate enhanced network programming functions in existing architectures," commented Eric Moyal, Director, Italy Partner and Commercial Teams at Cisco Italy.

Italtel also announced today that for the second year in a row it is the recipient of the Cisco Cloud Builder Partner of the Year Award in the South Europe region.

Cisco Partner Awards highlight the partners who demonstrate best business practices and become a model for other partners. An innovative approach, applications successes, unique programs, problem solving and sales approaches are considered by Cisco when it selects the award winners.

Most DevOps journeys involve several phases of maturity. Research shows that the inflection point where organizations begin to see maximum value is when they implement tight integration deploying their code to their infrastructure. Success at this level is the last barrier to at-will deployment. Storage, for instance, is more capable than where we read and write data. In his session at @DevOpsSummit at 20th Cloud Expo, Josh Atwell, a Developer Advocate for NetApp, will discuss the role and value extensible storage infrastructure has in accelerating software development activities, improve code quality, reveal multiple deployment options through automated testing, and support continuous integration efforts. All this will be described using tools common in DevOps organizations.
