AppZero Launches New Release of Self-Service App Migration Tool on AWS

Solution Accelerates Cloud Adoption for Enterprise Applications

AppZero, a fast, flexible way to move enterprise applications to the cloud, announced on Tuesday a new version of AppZero Service Provider Edition for use on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform. AppZero's award-winning application migration tool enables customers to move server applications onto AWS simply, fast, and with no code changes -- at the push of a button.

New features in this release include a "single view" of a migration, the ability to conduct multiple, concurrent migration, and simplified dashboard/navigation.

"We are excited to have AppZero providing optimized migration tools to help customers migrate their applications to the AWS cloud," said Terry Wise, Director, Worldwide Partner Ecosystem, Amazon Web Services. "With this new offering, customers can accelerate the migration of their Windows applications to AWS."

AppZero SP is a self-service web portal for the automated migration of Windows production applications to the cloud.  The cloud service separates an application from the operating system and machine, copies it and reinstalls the application on AWS. In addition to migrating from the datacenter to the cloud, the service enables operating system modernization by allowing customers to move from an old operating system to a newer one, with the click of a button.

AppZero AWS Introduction

As Windows Server 2003 fast approaches end of support (EOS), the ability to move to a newer version of the operating system (WS2008 R2, WS2012 or WS2012 R2) becomes critical.  AppZero SP enables customers to modernize and move to AWS in one step.  A newly published AppZero survey of Fortune 1,000 companies revealed that 75 percent of respondents wish to, or are considering, move to the cloud as part of their EOS remediation efforts.

To try this free application migration service or for more information, please visit: https://aws.appzero.com/. AWS infrastructure charges apply.

Greg O'Connor, AppZero CEO, commented on the new release saying, "AppZero SP makes it even faster and easier to move enterprise server applications to AWS, accelerating their ability to move to the cloud. We're excited to be able to offer the first ten licenses for AppZero SP free for our customers to use on AWS."

AppZero SP automatically discovers applications without installing code or agents on the source machine. Applications are selected and the task of moving the application to the AWS cloud is completely automated. Moving only the application saves time, reduces bandwidth and allows for a systematic "gold" image construction of the cloud environment.

AppZero is a fast, flexible way to move server applications to and across the cloud, without code change or lock-in. Encapsulating Windows applications in VM/OS-free packages, AppZero's patented software moves complex server applications with ease.  AppZero allows you to move from an old operating system to a newer one, with the click of a button - modernize and move to the cloud in one step.

As popularity of the smart home is growing and continues to go mainstream, technological factors play a greater role. The IoT protocol houses the interoperability battery consumption, security, and configuration of a smart home device, and it can be difficult for companies to choose the right kind for their product.
