Seattle Artist and Poet Cecilia E. Todd Releases New Book "12 and 3/4 Steps to a Life of Prosperity, Wealth and Joy"

Author Book Signing on November 23rd to Offer Free Copy to Each Person Who Attends

KIRKLAND, WA -- (Marketwired) -- 11/19/13 -- Artist, poet, teacher, organic gardener and former nun -- author Cecilia E. Todd has led an astounding and varied life. "12 and 3/4 Steps to a Life of Prosperity, Wealth and Joy," which will be released November 23rd, is the culmination of the wisdom of her life experiences that have taken her from her wartime childhood in England to her current home in the Pacific Northwest.

A third generation artist trained at the Royal Academy of Art in London, Todd went from a teaching career as a nun to a teacher in New York, Canada and in England to build a career as an artist in the US. Then at the peak of her artistic career, she lost most of her sight to macular degeneration and retinal detachment.

Putting down her paintbrushes, Todd embarked on new ventures, going to writing school, and obtaining a B.A. in psychology while dealing with clinical depression from the loss of her eyesight and her painting career. Throughout this, Todd continued to see pictures in her head that she wanted to paint but could not. Eventually, surgery restored some of her central vision. With her family's encouragement, she began to paint again -- slowly and in secret, reluctant to share the work created with her vastly diminished eyesight. When she finally shared her new work with her family, they caught their breath at the new turn it had taken. Encouraged, she once again embarked on her painting career, eventually establishing her own online gallery. Throughout all of this, she was writing -- poetry to go with the art she sold, as well as many books in her closet.

"12 and 3/4 Steps" is the knowledge of years of searching she has culled from her amazing journey and which she wants to share with the world.

An author signing party is planned on November 23 from 1:30 to 4 pm at Parkplace Books in Kirkland, Wash. The author will be giving away a free copy of the book to each person who attends.

"12 and 3/4 Steps" is available through Amazon.com on December 1or in select bookstores and on the author's website at www.twelveandthreequartersteps.com starting November 23.
