Developing the World’s First IaaS Marketplace

Details of Rüdiger Baumann's upcoming session at 12th Cloud Expo / Cloud Expo New York [June 10-13, 2013]

The world’s first vendor neutral marketplace for IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) cloud computing is being built. This marketplace fills the current gap in the value chain by offering standardized products and by addressing the needs of providers and consumers of cloud computing resources. Zimory is the technical partner for the settlement process of this project.

In his session at next month's 12th Cloud Expo | Cloud Expo New York [June 10-13, 2013], Zimory CEO Rüdiger Baumann will introduce the marketplace from the technical point of view, focusing on the initial software requirements and later implementation of the software by buyers and sellers. An insight into the status of the project will be given as well the importance of standards when trading computing power in the same way as other utilities, such as energy.

Speaker Bio:
Rüdiger Baumann is the CEO of Zimory. He is responsible for the company’s vision, finance and global market execution. With more than 30 years of experience within IT and communication industries it was Baumann’s vision that laid the groundwork for a global cloud computing marketplace based on standardization. Prior to joining Zimory, he served in well-known enterprises such as Philips and ADC, and start-ups including British Telecom spin off companies. Previous management roles included CEO, Managing Director and VP Sales & Marketing.
