Cyan to Present at Three Prominent SDN Events in February

Cyan Executives Discuss the Future of Software-Defined Networking across Wide Area and Metro Networks

PETALUMA, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/04/13 -- Cyan today announced that company executives will be presenting at three high-profile SDN events over the following two weeks, sharing its insights on applying software-defined networking (SDN) capabilities to reduce expense and enable network virtualization in both carrier networks and data centers. Additionally, the company will demonstrate its Cyan's Blue Planet SDN system, highlighting its role in helping network operators discover new network efficiencies and accelerate service delivery.

At Light Reading's SDN Symposium, Cyan senior director of service provider solutions, Rafael Francis, will present "Leveraging SDN for Greater Synergy Between the Carrier Network & the Data Center." The keynote speaker for the event will be Stuart Elby, Ph.D., vice president, Network Architecture & Technology at Verizon Digital Media Services. The SDN Symposium will also feature Heavy Reading senior analysts Sterling Perrin, Stanley Hubbard, Caroline Chappell and Jim Hodges.

At the Network World Open Network Exchange, Francis will once again present on leveraging SDN to create synergies between carrier networks and data centers. This session will explore the techniques for, and benefits of, applying SDN in the data center as well as the carrier network, and how this tighter integration in the WAN can enable more dynamic services with deterministic levels of performance.

Then Cyan will be demonstrating its Blue Planet SDN system at the Open Networking User Group (ONUG) in Boston. Cyan will give attendees a view into all three elements of the system -- the SDN platform, apps and element adapter apps -- demonstrating how Blue Planet facilitates control over a wide range of third-party network devices. Attendees will learn about best practices of implementing Open Networking and Software-Defined Networks. Additionally, IT industry leaders will be joined by financial analysts, venture capitalists, et al, interested in the emerging technology to share their thoughts on the technology.
